For years people have been telling me that I need to start a book blog, but being the procrastinator that I am, I just never got around to it (it seems I always have my nose in a book – go figure…). Last year, while co-chairing my daughter’s school book fair, I was asked to do a blog for them, and I really did enjoy it a great deal. Now my daughter will be changing schools next fall, and I’m at loose ends… Just the kick in the behind that I needed to finally start my own blog, so here I am! Aren’t you excited?
I’m thrilled to be able to share all of my opinions on books that I read, although probably not as thrilled as you are to read them. :-)
I read almost all YA fiction. Occasionally I will read a Juvenile title, and even more occasionally, a book targeted at someone my age, but YA is where it’s at for me. My favorite genres are Dystopia, Paranormal, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Contemporary, and Humor. Some of my favorite authors include Carrie Ryan, Gabrielle Zevin, Cassandra Clare, Holly Black, C.S. Lewis, Neal Shusterman, Cornelia Funke, Scott Westerfeld, Suzanne Collins, Roald Dahl, Madeline L’Engle, Brandon Mull, Jessica Day George, Stephen King, and Anne Rice. Of course, the list could go on and on, and don’t even get me started on favorite books and book series…
I read A LOT! My goal for 2011 is to read 200 books, and I am well on my way. I read 186 last year, so I know it’s possible! I hope you will follow me on my journey through the world of YA Fiction. It’s sure to be a fun ride! If you are on Goodreads, friend me! I would love to know what you are reading as well!
