WWW (27) and Waiting on Wednesday (March 7th, 2012): From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas

W. W. W. Wednesday is hosted by Should Be Reading a great blog that I subscribe to. Here's how it works... Each Wednesday I will answer the following questions:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you'll read next?

It's probably a good thing I haven't posted a WWW in a few weeks because they have been slow for reading.  I had book fair at my daughter's school last week, and running that leaves not time for blogging.  Anyway, I'm back and will (hopefully) not be missing any weeks for awhile!

What are you currently reading?

Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer~ ...and it's about freaking time I got to this.  It's only been sitting on my bookshelf for two months, calling to me like a siren calls a lost sailor.  Seriously.  I had to break my New Year's resolution (stay on top of my ARCs) to read it, but I just couldn't wait any longer...
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews~ This book is HILARIOUS in a Judd Apatow movie kind of way (that would mean that it is raunchy/funny).  I'm about half through it and I've guffawed enough times that it has piqued the interest of those around me.
One False Note (The 39 Clues, Book #2) by Gordon Korman~ I'm reading this to my son at bedtime and quite enjoying it.  I really like Gordon Korman, so I kind of figured I would enjoy his installment of this series.

What did you recently finish reading?

Fever by Lauren DeStefano~ As good as Wither, but even more horrifying on so many levels!  And the ending?  Let's just say that Lauren likes her cliffhangers.  I finished this book with a huge knot in my stomach.  Full review coming soon.

Another Faust by Daniel & Dina Nayeri~ I'd been meaning to read this forever, and finally did when I got an advance copy of Another Jekyll, Another Hyde.  I thought it was a brilliantly done retelling of an old tale, and am very much looking forward to continuing the series.  Read my full review HERE.
Black Heart by Holly Black~ If you've followed my blog very long, you know I'm a total Holly Black fangirl!  I love everything she writes, and I thought the first two Curse Workers books were amazing.  This book, the third in the trilogy, was even better.  I really do hope she decides to write more in this series, but I'm happy with the ending if she doesn't.  Full review coming soon.

What do you think you'll read next?

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan~ Yes, I know.  I should be ashamed of myself for not having read this yet.  I am going to remedy this situation forthwith.  I used my Audible credit for it this month, and it is next up.  Finally.
Starters by Lissa Price~ This comes out next week, so I need to get moving on it.  I'm really excited to finally read it because it looks awesome.  Also, the cover rules.  Look for my review sometime over the next week.

Another Jekyll, Another Hyde by Daniel & Dina Nayeri~ This one also comes out next week.  I don't have time to read Another Pan first (even though I really want to), so I hope it isn't necessary, but I will be reading it soon too.

"Waiting On" Wednesday is another fun blog event. Hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, this event gives us a chance to talk about the books we anxiously await the release of. Since there is ALWAYS a looooooong list of books I'm waiting on (I actually keep a spreadsheet), I figured this is one that I MUST do.

There are so many great books coming out that it is beyond difficult to choose just one each week.  I like to use titles that aren't getting as much attention (we are ALL waiting on Insurgent), and while sometimes I can't resist giving a little fangirl love to a huge upcoming title, I try some of the lesser known.  Here's one...

From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas

KYLIE: Mexico?  What a nightmare! I should be putting the finishing touches on my valedictorian speech. Graduation is TODAY! Wait! Is this a wedding band on my finger??

MAX: It started with Kylie’s laptop and a truck full of stolen electronics and it ended in Ensenada. It was hot, the way she broke us out like some chick in an action movie. But now we’re stranded here, with less than twenty-four hours before graduation.

WILL: Saving Kylie Flores from herself is kind of a full-time occupation. Luckily, I, Will Bixby, was born for the job. And when I found out she was stuck in Mexico with dreamy Max Langston, sure, I agreed to bring their passports across the border – but there’s no reason to rush back home right away. This party is just getting started.

LILY: This cannot be happening. It’s like some cruel joke. Or a bad dream. I close my eyes and when I reopen them, they’re still there. Max and Kylie Flores, freak of the century. In bed together. If Kylie thinks I'm giving him up without a fight, she's dead wrong.

Okay, so this sounds like the kind of thing that might have happened to me at the end of my high school career, so I MUST read it!  I really liked the authors' middle grade book from a few years ago, Karma Bites.  If this one is even close to as funny as that, I'll be a happy girl.  Of the very limited reviews I've read so far, most were great, so I'm looking forward to a super fun ride!

My Expected Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★

  1. Eh, I'm still annoyed with Cremer's series. I haven't read book two and onward yet. Even though I have book two sitting on my shelf. I just don't want to read about Shay all day long.

    Awesome picks!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I adore comments since they make me feel special and loved, just please don't spam me. I'm not interested in vacation offers, millions of dollars from Nigeria, or anything not book related!

Also, this is an award-free blog. As flattered as I am, I just don't have time. I'm happy if I have time to post all of my reviews on time, and am a momma of three to boot, but I appreciate the thoughts! XO
