I've had a slow week for reading because I've been doing some catching up with other things (I finally got my roots done- I don't look like white trash anymore- yay me!). I posted a bunch of reviews last week, although I'm still 26 or so behind. That means look for a BUNCH over the next few weeks. Also, I'm doing some re-reads to prepare for Decatur Book Festival. If you didn't read my POST about it, you should. I'm super-excited for it every year, and this one is no different.
What are you currently reading?
Red Glove by Holly Black~ I loved White Cat, and am enjoying Red Glove even more. I should finish by the end of today, so stay tuned!
Bumped by Megan McCafferty~ As fabulous as I expected it to be! Kicking myself for not getting to it sooner.
Divergent by Veronica Roth~ Still reading this because I promised Emma I wouldn't read ahead of her. We do a few chapters a night, so I should be done by next week.
What did you recently finish reading?
Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter~ LOVED it! Much better than Heist Society (which I gave 4 ½ stars). A new favorite series, for sure.
The Wide-Awake Princess by E.D. Baker~ Great book. This is the 2nd time I've read it and I still love it. Clever, funny, and original.
What do you think you'll read next?
Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce~ I got Sweetly yesterday and I've been wanting to re-read this first. I just haven't gotten to it. Maybe I'll try the audio...
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins~ I STILL haven't read this. It's been on my nightstand for months.
Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld~ This is the only series of his that I haven't read. Must do.
"Waiting On" Wednesday is another fun blog event. Hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, this event gives us a chance to talk about the books we anxiously await the release of. Since there is ALWAYS a looooooong list of books I'm waiting on (I actually keep a spreadsheet), I figured this is one that I MUST do.
**CAUTION: The Goodreads synopsis below contains spoilers for the first two books, so if you haven't read them (and you definitely SHOULD), don't read anything below the cover art!! **

Black Heart (The Curse Workers, #3) by Holly Black
Cassel Sharpe knows he’s been used as an assassin, but he’s trying to put all that behind him. He’s trying to be good, even though he grew up in a family of con artists and cheating comes as easily as breathing to him. He’s trying to do the right thing, even though the girl he loves is inextricably connected with crime. And he’s trying to convince himself that working for the Feds is smart, even though he’s been raised to believe the government is the enemy.
But with a mother on the lam, the girl he loves about to take her place in the Mob, and new secrets coming to light, the line between what’s right and what’s wrong becomes increasingly blurred. When the Feds ask Cassel to do the one thing he said he would never do again, he needs to sort out what’s a con and what’s truth. In a dangerous game and with his life on the line, Cassel may have to make his biggest gamble yet—this time on love.

As I mentioned above, I loved the first two books (I mean, I am still reading the 2nd, but I'm almost-done enough to say I love it). I cannot wait for this one to come out. I guess the benefit of waiting this long to read Red Glove is that I don't have to wait quite as long (in agony) to know what happens next!
