WWW (25) and Waiting on Wednesday (February 1st, 2012): A Midsummer's Nightmare by Kody Keplinger

W. W. W. Wednesday is hosted by Should Be Reading a great blog that I subscribe to. Here's how it works... Each Wednesday I will answer the following questions:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you'll read next?

I missed last week because I've been BUSY.  The wife/mom stuff totally gets in the way of my blogging sometimes... lol

What are you currently reading?

A Million Suns by Beth Revis~ I loved the first book, Across the Universe, and am beyond excited to finally be reading this.  I actually felt physical pain when I had to wait to read it in keeping with my New Year's resolution to read my advance copies before their release dates.
Paper Towns by John Green~ I adore this book, and I've found that John Green's books translate very well to an audio format, so I'm listening to this, and it's as great I as expected it would be.  I love the book even more now!

What did you recently finish reading?

Incarnate by Jodi Meadows~ This is a debut I had been looking forward to, but not as much as some others.   It turned out to be phenomenal, and even better than some of my more anticipated reads.  Also, the cover is beautiful.  Read my review HERE.
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness~ I started this a couple months ago and had to put it down to do some review reading.  As with all of Patrick's books, it was great.  Actually, I would say it is his best book yet.  So beautiful and sad at the same time.  Review to come.
Everneath by Brodi Ashton~ I was really looking forward to this book, but it didn't really meet my expectations.  It was okay, but not the epic read I thought it was going to be. Read my review HERE.

What do you think you'll read next?

Pure by Julianna Baggott~ I think Julianna Baggott is a tremendously talented writer, and I am excited to review this book.  It looks great. It comes out on February 8th, so keep an eye out for my review!
Firelight by Sophie Jordan~ I'm waiting on the audio of this from my library, and since I'm first in line, I should get it this week sometime.  Fingers crossed.  I've heard great things about it!
The Butterfly Clues by Kate Ellison~ I've had this NetGalley forever and it is coming out soon, so I'm finally going to get around to reading it.  The cover looks super-creepy, so I'm really looking forward to it.

"Waiting On" Wednesday is another fun blog event. Hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, this event gives us a chance to talk about the books we anxiously await the release of. Since there is ALWAYS a looooooong list of books I'm waiting on (I actually keep a spreadsheet), I figured this is one that I MUST do.

You know that other book I was going to do in my last WoW post that didn't have a cover yet?  Well, now it does!  I present to you...

A Midsummer's Nightmare by Kody Keplinger

Whitley Johnson's dream summer with her divorce dad has turned into a nightmare. She's just met his new fiancee and her kids. The fiancee's son? Whitley's one-night stand from graduation night. Just freakin' great.

Worse, she totally doesn't fit in with her dad's perfect new country-club family. So Whitley acts out. She parties. Hard. So hard she doesn't even notice the good things right under her nose: a sweet little future stepsister who is just about the only person she's ever liked, a best friend (even though Whitley swears she doesn't "do" friends), and a smoking-hot guy who isn't her stepbrother...at least, not yet. It will take all three of them to help Whitley get through her anger and begin to put the pieces of her family together.

Filled with authenticity and raw emotion, Whitley is Kody Keplinger's most compelling character to date: a cynical Holden Caulfield-esque girl you will wholly care about.

I'm really excited for this book.  When I saw it in the catalog back in November I knew I had to read it.  It sounds like it would be a hilarious story even without Kody Keplinger's famous snark, but add that and it's sure to be a winner!  I have a feeling this will be her best book yet!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I adore comments since they make me feel special and loved, just please don't spam me. I'm not interested in vacation offers, millions of dollars from Nigeria, or anything not book related!

Also, this is an award-free blog. As flattered as I am, I just don't have time. I'm happy if I have time to post all of my reviews on time, and am a momma of three to boot, but I appreciate the thoughts! XO
